I love distressed furniture, but it seems to be so expensive in stores, so I decided to try my hand at creating my own. I bought this old bureau for $15 from a neighbor who was getting rid of everything in her shed. I sanded it down, then painted it with an Antique White milk paint, and then rubbed all over with a dark brown glaze to achieve the decorative finish.

I love your makeovers and I love the distressed look too....infact I am going to be distressing a welsh dresser this weekend ..at the moment it is pine with dark green painted door panels with additional stencilling ..lovely :) but it will be cream with alot of it sanded back and an additional ageing wash....well thats the plan lol....will come back soon to catch up on your makeovers xx
